We are excited to offer two specialist Drama sessions this summer at FunZone. These sessions will be four days long and will run from 9:30 - 12:30. Children can either be collected at 12:30 or you can book a session where they join FunZone for the afternoon for a 4pm pick-up. These sessions are run by Emma Miller (see below for details).
Rec - Year 2 (current) will be able to book for Beauty and the Beast: 14th - 17th August
Year 3 - Year 6 (current) will be able to book for School of Rock: 6th - 9th August
Emma has trained in Musical Theatre and holds a First Class Honours Degree in Drama and Applied Theatre. In conjunction with University and Drama school she holds a PGCE in Secondary Education and has a strong teaching background in Drama and The Performing Arts. Emma has performed since the tender age of 4, on the West End Stage, in Charity Events and around other parts of the UK. She has trained and developed her craft with some of the best producers, directors and choreographers that London has to offer, and has gained an extensive amount of knowledge from them which she hopes to pass down to her students.
Emma believes that the Performing Arts is a life enhancing subject which provides students with opportunities to respond creatively and organically whilst allowing them to build, grow, create and perform in a safe, engaging and thriving environment. Her main ambition for Stagecoach Guildford North is to develop and create an environment where the students are nurtured and feel comfortable enough to step out of their comfort zones, challenging themselves whilst learning new skills.
Ultimately, Emma has quickly realised that the most empowering and exciting environment in which to use the performing arts is one which directly involves young people
